The lowest grade of inspection, covering externally visible physical aspects of the equipment only. Quick assessment of obvious damage, corrosion, or physical deterioration without equipment access.

Close Inspection

Close Inspection

Covers all aspects of visual inspection plus checks for appropriate certification and zone suitability. Tools may be used to check tightness of glands and fasteners, but equipment remains unopened. Can be conducted with equipment energized.

Detailed Inspection

Comprehensive inspection covering all close inspection aspects plus internal equipment components. Requires equipment to be de-energized and isolated for complete internal assessment and verification.
